Founded in 1945, the Vehicle & Automotive Distributors Association represents the interests of automotive-related businesses including new and used car and truck, motorcycle, recreational and farm equipment retailers, as well as vehicle service/repair shops, parts retailers/wholesalers, and tire dealers.
VADA's services include legal/legislative representation, government/regulatory education and advocacy; DMV-required surety bond coverage; health, life, dental and disability insurance coverage for 1,400 employees and family members; on-site wellness/flu clinics; and on-site environmental compliance and employee safety training via our Workers Compensation Risk Management Program. Working with the VT Office of the Attorney General, VADA administers AUTOCAP, a consumer complaint arbitration program. Committed to automotive education, VADA worked with VTC to create and fund its Automotive Technology Program and facility, a scholarship endowment program, and provides curriculum development, support and continuing education for all high school and VTC automotive instructors.
Automotive retailing represents 16% of retail sales in Vermont annually and generates 6,200+ jobs, $251 million in total compensation to residents, and $1.64 billion in sales and service.
